In the V-process casting (vacuum-sealed molding casting) process, vacuum equipment plays a core supporting role and is by no means a simple auxiliary tool. The core principle of this process is that the vacuum system extracts the air between the sand box and the sealing film, creating a negative pressure environment inside the sand box. This compacts and fixes the dry sand into shape, forming a sand mold cavity that perfectly matches the shape of the casting. During the molten metal pouring stage, the vacuum equipment must continuously maintain the negative pressure state of the sand mold: on one hand, it prevents the sand mold from collapsing due to the high-temperature impact and pressure of the molten metal, ensuring the casting has a clear contour and precise dimensions; on the other hand, it can promptly extract the gases generated during the pouring process (such as water vapor, resin decomposition gas, etc.), avoiding casting defects like blowholes and sand inclusions. After the molten metal cools and solidifies, the vacuum equipment stops working, the negative pressure in the sand mold disappears, and the dry sand can collapse directly. This not only simplifies the sand dropping process, reduces labor intensity, but also reduces sand waste and realizes green casting. It can be said that the stability of the vacuum equipment and the accuracy of negative pressure control directly determine the production efficiency of V-process casting and the quality of castings, and they are the key guarantee for the wide application of this process in the production of precision castings such as auto parts and construction machinery accessories.
